A look behind the scenes at how ACE Elite prepares for the club volleyball season.

When your athlete receives an offer to join an ACE Elite Volleyball Club team, it's an exciting moment! It's also the beginning of the financial commitment that comes with participating in club volleyball.
One of the first steps after accepting a roster position is paying an initial team deposit.
We understand that club volleyball is an investment for families, and we believe in being transparent about where your money goes and why certain payments are required.
Let's break down what a team deposit is, what it helps pay for, and why it's such an important part of preparing for the season.
What Is a Club Volleyball Deposit?
A club volleyball deposit is an upfront payment required when an athlete accepts a position on a team.
At ACE Elite, the required deposit amounts are:
- National & Regional Teams: $800
- Local / Short Season Teams: $600
These deposits help ACE Elite cover significant upfront expenses associated with preparing teams for the upcoming season.
While practices and tournaments may still be months away, much of the planning, scheduling, and financial commitment happens long before the first serve.
Why Are Deposits Required?
1. Tournament Planning Begins Before Tryouts
One of the biggest misconceptions about club volleyball is that clubs begin planning their tournament schedules after teams are selected.
In reality, the process starts much earlier.
Many competitive volleyball tournaments open registration months before the season begins. Popular events can fill quickly, and in many cases, tournaments are already booked and full before club tryouts even take place.
This means ACE Elite must plan ahead and make financial commitments before knowing exactly which athletes will be on each roster.
To give our athletes access to competitive tournament opportunities, we often need to secure tournament spots and pay entry fees well in advance.
Those costs don't wait until practices begin.
2. Tournament Entry Fees Are a Significant Upfront Expense
Tournament registration fees are one of the major expenses involved in operating a club volleyball program.
Depending on the tournament, registration fees may be due months before the event itself.
And here's something many families don't realize:
The initial team deposit does not cover the full cost of a team's tournament registrations.
Instead, deposits help offset the tournament expenses ACE Elite has already committed to or paid in advance.
This allows us to continue building competitive schedules while managing the significant upfront financial obligations that come with running a club volleyball program.
3. Uniforms and Apparel Need to Be Ordered Early
Tournament registrations aren't the only expenses that happen before the season starts.
Once teams are formed, ACE Elite must finalize and place orders for each team's required apparel package.
This process takes time, especially when dealing with team-specific uniforms, personalized items, production schedules, and shipping timelines.
Waiting too long to place orders can create delays that affect whether athletes receive their uniforms and apparel before their first tournament.
Your athlete's deposit helps us place these orders promptly so teams can arrive at their first competitions prepared and ready to represent ACE Elite.
Why Can't Clubs Just Wait Until the Season Starts to Collect Payments?
It's a fair question!
The simple answer is that the expenses of operating a club volleyball program don't follow the same timeline as the season itself.
Tournament registrations, apparel production, and other preparations require advance planning and financial commitments.
In some cases, clubs must arrange financing or use other available resources to cover tournament entry fees before team deposits and season payments are collected.
If clubs waited until the season began to pay these expenses, many desirable tournament opportunities would already be gone, and uniforms might not arrive in time.
Collecting deposits when athletes accept their roster positions helps bridge the gap between early financial commitments and the start of the season.
What Does Your ACE Elite Deposit Help Pay For?
Your initial team deposit primarily supports two important areas:
Tournament Entry Fees
Deposits help offset the cost of securing tournament registrations, including expenses that may have been paid before tryouts or team selection.
Team Uniforms & Apparel
Deposits help fund the ordering and production of required team apparel packages so athletes have what they need before tournament competition begins.
These are essential expenses that directly support each team's preparation and competitive experience.
A Commitment on Both Sides
When an athlete accepts a roster position with ACE Elite, it's a commitment from both the family and the club.
Families are committing to their athlete's participation, while ACE Elite is committing to the planning, organization, coaching, and resources necessary to provide a meaningful club volleyball experience.
The initial deposit is an important part of that process.
It helps us move forward confidently with team preparations, meet financial obligations, and focus on what matters most: developing athletes both on and off the court.
More Than Just a Volleyball Season
At ACE Elite, our mission is simple:
Good Players. Better People.
We believe club volleyball should be about more than tournaments, wins, and losses. It's about developing confidence, character, resilience, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for the game.
Behind every season is a tremendous amount of preparation to create those opportunities for our athletes.
We appreciate the investment our families make in their athletes and the trust they place in ACE Elite.
By helping families understand how deposits work and why they're necessary, we hope to make the club volleyball experience more transparent from the very beginning.
